Surface Dressing - Tar and Chipping

Secmair Tar and Chip surfacing solution

We have a number of different tar and chip solutions for a range of different size jobs from a small driveway to the full scale resurfacing of public highways. We are able to provide a variety of different sizes and colour of stone chips to suit your personal or environmental requirements.

For larger jobs we are now using the latest Secmair state of the art computer controlled tar and chip feeders. The one pass surface dressing system allows the chips to be fed onto the hot tar binder within 1 second of its application. This means the binders (tar) have had virtually no time to lose any of its heat and will greatly increase the bond of the tar to the existing surface and the new stone chip. This system also greatly reduces any chances of bare patches on high spots on the existing surface due to the fast application of the stone chip after the binder course is laid.

This computer controlled system uses Lookrax software and can read the quality of the road surface before the new tar and chip surface is applied. This system can apply the new surface as a patch, part width of the road or a full blanket width up to 3.10m wide.

Tarmacing

Tarmac surface dressing

Coppard supplies a full range of quality assured Tarmac materials and is able to lay all different Tarmacadam surfaces.
We are prepared and equipped to undertake a full range of different Tarmacing jobs from the small patching job or new driveway that would require hand laying the tarmac to the full scale reconstruction of a public highway using the latest telescreed machinery.

Our range of paving machines will allow us machine lay tarmac from footpath width from 1.2m up to a massive 4.75m wide. These machines are operated by qualified and highly experienced operatives to give you the best possible quality of workmanship.

We are qualified to lay stone mastic asphalt thin lay (SMA).

Tarmacadam surfaces can be laid to suit your own requirements but are typically made up of either 1,2 or 3 layers (Surface Course, Binder Course, Base). We can construct the Surface course as either an open or closed graded Surface course. An open graded Surface course will greatly improve the ability of the road to drain the rainwater away and reduce spray from vehicles. Another benefit of open graded tarmac is its noise reducing properties and improved wet skid resistance.

We can provide you with a free no obligation quote for your surfacing needs whether it is a driveway, car park, access road or public highway.

Industrial Concrete Areas and Driveways

Power Float Finishing Concrete

Finishing a concrete slab with a power float.

As part of our surfacing division, we can offer concrete ranging from stone size of 6mm to 20mm. Concrete can be very useful in areas where more of a tough industrial product is needed, such as farm yards, steep drivesways, caravan hard standings, shed and garage bases or work shops.

We also can supply expansion crack control joints, which are used with concrete slabs to protect the slab itself from cracking, to accommodate the inevitable movement of the slab and to prevent excessive forces being transmitted to adjacent structures.

There are 3 main finishes available, which are tamp finish, (heavy or light), brush finish, (heavy or light), and power float.
