Coppard’s range extends from compact 750mm-wide material carriers through to heavy-load tracked platforms and crane-equipped Morooka carriers. The right machine depends on the load weight and dimensions, available access, ground conditions, gradients and whether the job involves carrying, lifting or both.

Tracked Crane Carriers – Morooka Fleet

Coppard operates Morooka rubber-tracked carriers fitted with knuckle-boom cranes for projects where both site access and lifting capability need to be considered.

The current range includes the DT41 Morooka MST1500 with Palfinger PK27000 crane, Morooka MST2300 with Palfinger PK36002 crane and DTC01 Morooka MST2300 with PM100SP crane.

These machines combine tracked mobility with onboard lifting capability, making them useful for jobs such as positioning plant, structural components, transformers and other loads on sites where a conventional road-going crane may not be the most practical option.

Ground bearing capacity, gradients, access and the lifting requirement still need to be assessed for the individual project. Tracked running gear does not make a crane carrier suitable for every soft or sloping site.

Morooka crane carriers are supplied as operated hire, with pricing POA according to the machine and job requirements.

Call 01883 743 322 with the load weight and dimensions, required reach, access and site conditions and our Godstone team can discuss the appropriate machine.

DTC02 – 30-Tonne Heavy-Load Tracked Platform

The DTC02 is a remote-controlled tracked carrier designed for transporting heavy loads across rough and difficult terrain.

Coppard currently lists the machine with a maximum load of 30,000kg. Unlike the Morooka crane carriers, the DTC02 does not have an onboard crane – its purpose is to transport the load across the site.

It can provide a solution for moving heavy plant, transformers, switchgear and other substantial loads where the route is unsuitable for conventional road transport or wheeled site equipment.

The suitability of the DTC02 depends on the load dimensions and weight as well as the route, gradients, ground bearing capacity and available working space.

Call 01883 743 322 with the load and site details and our Godstone team can confirm availability and discuss the transport requirement.

Compact Track Carriers

For restricted-access material movement, Coppard also stocks considerably smaller tracked carriers.

The Track Carrier 1200 Pro is currently listed at 750mm wide with a maximum load of 1,200kg. Its narrow dimensions make it useful where the route includes restricted gateways, passages or other confined access.

The larger Tracked Carrier 2500 Pro is 950mm wide with a maximum load of 2,500kg, providing greater carrying capacity while remaining relatively compact.

The 1200 Pro is currently listed at £200 per day or £400 per week, while the 2500 Pro is listed at £275 per day or £500 per week. Prices exclude VAT and non-account customers add 10%.

These compact carriers can be available for self-drive hire subject to the normal hire requirements.

Call 01883 743 322 with the load, narrowest access width and ground conditions and our Godstone team can help identify the appropriate carrier.

Tracked Carrier Hire in Godstone and Surrey

Tracked carriers are useful where the challenge is not simply the weight of the load but getting it to the required position.

Projects can include moving materials across soft or unmade ground, taking equipment through restricted access, transporting heavy plant across construction sites and reaching rural or estate locations where conventional wheeled equipment may be less suitable.

Ground conditions around Godstone and Surrey can vary considerably, so machine selection should be based on the actual route. Gradients, soft ground, underground structures, restricted turning space and the condition of the unloading area should all be discussed before the machine is allocated.

From our Godstone depot we regularly support projects in surrounding areas including Redhill, Reigate, Oxted, Caterham, Horley and Lingfield, as well as the wider Surrey area.

Call 01883 743 322 with the load, site postcode, access and ground conditions and we’ll help identify a suitable tracked carrier.

Why Hire a Tracked Carrier from Coppard?

Coppard has supplied specialist plant and lifting equipment since 1972. The tracked carrier range covers very different requirements, from 750mm-wide compact carriers for restricted-access material movement through to 30-tonne heavy-load platforms and crane-equipped Morooka machines.

This means the equipment can be selected around the load, access and work involved rather than relying on one tracked machine for every application.

Tracked carriers can also be arranged alongside excavators, cranes and other plant where several stages of a project need to be supported through the same depot.

Call 01883 743 322 and tell our Godstone team what needs moving or lifting, the load dimensions and weight, site access and ground conditions and we’ll help identify the appropriate option.

Frequently Asked Questions – Tracked Carrier Hire in Godstone

What is the difference between a tracked carrier and a crane carrier?

A tracked carrier is primarily designed to transport a load across the site. Coppard’s compact 1200 Pro and 2500 Pro machines, together with the larger DTC02 platform, fall into this category.

A tracked crane carrier combines tracked mobility with an onboard crane, allowing the machine to travel to the working area and then carry out the required lifting operation. Coppard’s Morooka crane carriers provide this combined carrying and lifting capability.

The right option therefore depends on whether the load simply needs transporting or also needs to be lifted or positioned when it reaches the work area.

A tracked carrier can be useful where the ground is soft, uneven, unmade or sensitive to repeated wheeled traffic, or where restricted access limits the equipment that can reach the working area. Tracks distribute the machine load differently from conventional wheels and can provide useful traction on suitable difficult ground. A tracked carrier is not automatically the best option for every soft or sloping site, however. Ground bearing capacity, gradients, payload, access width and the material being moved should all be considered. Tell Coppard’s Godstone team what needs moving, the load weight, access width and ground conditions and we can help identify whether a tracked carrier or another machine is more appropriate.

Yes. Coppard’s Morooka crane carriers are supplied as operated hire so the machine and crane are provided with an appropriate Coppard operator. The compact Track Carrier 1200 Pro and 2500 Pro can be available for self-drive hire subject to the normal hire requirements.

Where a crane carrier is being used to lift a load, the lifting operation must also be appropriately planned for the particular job. The HSE’s Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) guidance explains that lifting operations involving lifting equipment must be properly planned by a competent person, appropriately supervised and carried out safely.

Call 01883 743 322 with the lifting requirement, load details and site conditions and our Godstone team can discuss the appropriate hire arrangement.

Tracked carriers can be useful on soft, muddy, uneven and unmade surfaces where suitable wheeled equipment may have difficulty maintaining traction or could cause greater surface disturbance.

However, no tracked machine should be described as suitable for every type of difficult ground. Saturated soil, steep gradients, unstable edges, buried structures and exceptionally low ground-bearing capacity can all affect whether a particular carrier can be used. The machine also needs to be considered with the load on board, because the combined weight affects the ground beneath it.

Tell our Godstone team about the complete travel route, gradients and ground conditions when booking and we can help identify a suitable machine or advise where further assessment may be required.

Yes. Coppard can arrange transport of tracked carriers to remote and difficult-access projects subject to the available delivery route and suitable unloading arrangements. Give our Godstone team the site postcode together with details of narrow roads, gateways, weight restrictions, low bridges, steep approaches or restricted unloading space.

For rural projects, it is particularly important to consider both the delivery vehicle’s access and the route the tracked carrier will take once it has been unloaded.

Call 01883 743 322 with the site details and machine required and our team can confirm the available delivery arrangements.
